About
Calder Services.
Established in 1974, Calder Services provides reliable and professional plumbing, heating and electrical services throughout the Ribble Valley and surrounding areas. From our Whalley base, we support local homes with a complete range of services and a strong focus on customer care.
Our story
From specialist beginnings to a complete local service.
Originally registered as Calder oil burner & electrical services it was not until a few years later that we branched out into plumbing work and onto both natural and liquid propane gas. Having always strived to ensure we provide a complete service to our many loyal customers we now possess all the necessary skills and qualifications to undertake work on gas, oil and LPG heating systems of all sizes.
Calder Services started off small but soon carved out a niche in the market by providing exceptional levels of customer service. Having built up a database of regular customers and employed a number of highly trained tradesmen we have grown steadily but gradually over the years without losing our focus on customer care.
Now operating from our own purpose built premises on Manorfields since 1996 we have continued to go from strength to strength and continue to provide an award winning service to our many loyal clients. We now pride ourselves on being large enough to provide a complete range of plumbing, heating and electrical services but are still small enough to care about customer service.
Recognition through the years
An award winning company.
Recognition for the quality of Calder Services’ work and customer care has formed an important part of the company’s history.
Calder Services, heating, plumbing and electrics based in Lancashire, have won numerous awards for our commitment to quality and customer service both as a Company and as individuals. We have been finalists in the H&V NEWS domestic heating installer of the year competition three times, won the North West Small Business of the year as sponsored by Parcelforce and been voted the Federation of Small Businesses Northern region Small Business Champions.
Having been defeated by more PR focussed finalists in the H&V NEWS domestic installer of the year awards in the inaugural year (1994) and millennium year awards (2000) we finally received our first award in 2001 when we were voted the Parcelforce sponsored North West Small Business of the Year.
The following year however brought even more success for Calder Services as we were once again voted into the finals of the H&V NEWS awards and also collected the North England section Small Business Champions Award from the Federation of Small Businesses. The picture above shows M.D. Craig Nicholls collecting the award from FSB Chairman at the time John Emmins.
The same year also saw Technical Development Manager Derek Niven voted Britain’s favourite plumber by the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering and Chairman of the board Stephen Nicholls also collected personal achievement and customer service awards from the Lancashire Telegraph.
