Heating system care · Whalley, Clitheroe & the Ribble Valley

Care for the
whole heating system.

Power flushing can be relevant to some heating problems, but it is not the automatic answer to every cold radiator. Calder Services will first help establish the symptoms and wider system condition.

Heating system care explained

Diagnosis before treatment.

Similar symptoms can have different causes, so the conversation starts with what the system is actually doing.

Cold or uneven radiators

A radiator cold at the top may contain trapped air, while a cold lower section can be associated with sludge or restricted flow. If several rooms warm slowly, balancing, valves, the pump or wider circulation may be involved, so the cause should be checked before choosing a treatment.

Noisy pipes and poor circulation

Gurgling, banging, whistling, frequent bleeding and a heating system that warms very slowly can indicate air, restriction or a pump, valve or control issue. The timing and location of the noise help narrow down the fault.

Power flushing and system protection

Power flushing circulates water and cleaning chemicals through suitable heating systems to loosen sludge and debris. It is only recommended after assessment; the system should then be rinsed, treated with inhibitor and checked for reliable circulation.
